
EUSR SHEA Gas
The Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) suite of schemes have been developed in collaboration with industry to provide a uniform approach to health, safety, and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector, in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.
This course is designed to provide evidence that an individual has demonstrated a suitable level of knowledge, understanding and behavioural awareness. Individuals must successfully complete training and assessment for all nine modules.

Who should attend
The SHEA Gas scheme is designed for individuals who require access to operational sites within the gas industry, both permanent and temporary, at all levels including operatives, supervisors, and management.

Pre-Requisites
Participants will require access to a digital device with internet access.
If the training is to be delivered remotely, the participant will need access to Microsoft teams with camera and sound enabled.
Aim
You will gain an in-depth understanding of health, safety and environmental issues affecting the gas industry that you can use in your workplace.
The course will teach you how to work safely and what your responsibilities are. With the knowledge you gain, you will work on site legally and competently, whilst keeping yourself and others safe.

Course Content
The SHEA Gas scheme includes of nine modules.
Modules 1-6 from SHEA Core which are relevant for all utility industries and support workplace practice in relation to health, safety, and environmental law.
Modules 14, 15 and 16 are specific to the UK Gas Industry.
Includes the following topics:
Risk Assessments
Ensuring Safety on Work Premises
Identifying and Mitigating Physical Hazards
Recognising and Handling Health Hazards
Environmental Considerations and Protections
SHEA tests are designed as multiple-choice assessments, corresponding to each module. Learners have the flexibility to complete these tests for individual modules separately or to undertake all the module assessments simultaneously.
Full Award Assessment
Once the delegate has successfully completed the SHEA Gas course and assessment, the results will be sent to the awarding body and cards will be issued to the delegate in due course.
Certification for this course is valid for 5 years from the date of training. To still be certified in this area, you will need to retake the SHEA Gas course before the expiry date on your card.
