EUSR SHEA Telecoms

The Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) suite of schemes have been developed in collaboration with industry to provide a uniform approach to health, safety, and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector, in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.

The SHEA Telecoms course consists of 7 modules; 6 of which are classed as “core” and 1 is specific to the Telecoms industry. Delegates need to complete all seven modules and pass the SHEA Telecoms assessment to achieve the EUSR SHEA Telecoms registration.

Who should attend

Individuals involved in the operational activities of the telecoms industry who require access to sites, both permanent and temporary, including all levels of operatives, supervisors and management.

Pricing Information

Course cost is £200.00 per person.


If you book for us to come to you, there is a minimum of 8 people to be booked in, with a maximum of 12 people.


Where travel is required to your location, there is an additional mileage charge of 45p per mile for anything over 30 miles from the ABS head office post code.


If you would like to come to our office, there is a minimum of 4 people to be booked in, with a maximum of 8 people.

Pre-Requisites

Participants will require access to a digital device with internet access.

If the training is to be delivered remotely, the participant will need access to Microsoft teams with camera and sound enabled.

Aim

You will gain an in-depth understanding of health, safety and environmental issues affecting the telecoms industry that you can use in your workplace.


The course will teach you how to work safely and what your responsibilities are. With the knowledge you gain, you will work on site legally and competently, whilst keeping yourself and others safe.

Course Content

The course follows a modular approach with seven modules in total. Six of the modules are designated as ‘core’ modules, which are pertinent for all utility sectors. The other module is specific to the telecoms industry.


The modules covered are:

  • Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities

  • Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment

  • Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks

  • Module 4: Common Hazards in the workplace

  • Module 5: Occupational health hazards

  • Module 6: Responding to emergencies

  • Module 7: Working safely underground, in the highway and overhead

 

To gain the EUSR SHEA Telecom registration certificate, candidates must complete all seven modules.


SHEA tests are designed as multiple-choice assessments, corresponding to each module. Learners have the flexibility to complete these tests for individual modules separately or to undertake all the module assessments simultaneously.

Full Award Assessment

Once the delegate has successfully completed the SHEA Telecoms course and assessment, the results will be sent to the awarding body and cards will be issued to the delegate in due course.


Those who successfully complete the requirements of the scheme training course and assessment will achieve an EUSR registration, which is valid for three years.
